I just love Mondays! They mark the start of a new adventure and I'm always excited to find out what this week will hold.

All this excitement also puts me in the mood for a bit of a shopping spree and today I want to share with you my November wish list.

It was so hard choosing my absolute favourite items to show you this month as there are just so many but here are just a few that made it to the top of my list!

Skin Care

Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner
I cannot go without a toner in my daily skin routine, but when I heard about this Exfoliating Toner I just had to add it to my list. I love how soft my skin feels after exfoliating and this two-in-one product is the toner of any girls dreams! It's had amazing reviews and I can't wait to try it out. You can add it to your wish list too here.

Bobbi Brown hydrating eye cream
Now this one has been on my wish list for a couple of months now but I'm just hoping Santa is reading! I have not stopped hearing people rave about this product. It contains a combination of Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel Extract, Jojoba seed, Avocado Oil and Squalane to sooth, condition and revive the skin around the eye for up to 24 hours. Sounds yummy! I hope I can include it in my skin regime very soon!

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream nourishing lip balm
I always have a lip balm at the ready this season to keep my lips feeling soft, nourished and protected against the harsh Winter weather. This balm is just perfect, made with a combination of vitamins, minerals and an SPF 20 it's the Queen of lip balms! Find it here.

Skirts & Dresses

River Island Cap sleeve dress
You can always rely on ASOS for a new dress (or two!) and this one by River Island is a must have for the winter season. I love the teal and the necklace detail is a beautiful touch for a bit of glamour. I just love this dress and think it will look great with some thick black tights and black heeled ankle boots.

Warehouse Premium Floral Print dress
I am obsessed with Warehouse! It has been my favourite high street store for years and this dress is a perfect example of why I love them so much. This floral pattern is just perfect for the winter season. I love the high neckline and elbow length sleeves that make this dress perfect to dress up or down. I can just imagine it looking amazing under a knee length brown coat and some little pumps or dressed up with some black tights and elegant court shoes. This is a must have for my wardrobe this season!

Warehouse soft flannel skirt
I had to add this in too. I think I own more skirts than any other garment and this one was uber cute. I love it's simplicity and elegance and the soft beige colour is easy to wear with anything!

Jacquard Zip Yoke Sweat Dress
I just cannot get enough sweat dresses this season! I love how stylish and yet comfy they are and they make great day wear. I've already picked up a few of these this season but this one is next on the list. This deep purple sweat dress has a relaxed fit making is simple but gorgeous when paired with a pair of doc martins or chunky boots, and you can pick it up from Warehouse here

Jacquard Knit Top
Oh! I'm sensing a theme here! This Knitted top from H&M screamed "buy me" as soon as I saw it. Although it might not be the warmest top, it looks so simple yet stylish I thought it would look great with trousers or skirts and just add a little extra to that day wear outfit. I might even add some kitten heels and wear this to the office. I'm such a huge fan of pencil skirts the outfit in this picture just sold it to me!

H&M Suede Boots
H&M offer great value on leather goods and this boots are no exception. I love these Mole suede biker boots and think they'll look extra snug with these patterned socks to keep my toes toasty!

Keds Pumps
But even in winter I can't go without my staple pumps, and I love this tan leather pair from Keds. Pumps just go with everything and these just adds something warm and seasonal to the wardrobe.

Beara Beara Bags
It took me a long time to go through all my favourite Beara Beara Bags and select just a few to share with you! BB have some gorgeous bags on offer and if you'd like to look at them all you can find them here but here are just two of my favourite satchels I found in Cosmopolitan Boutique, the Luna Leather Satchel and the Santa Ana satchel.

H&M Leather Gloves
One thing I cannot go without this season is leather gloves and these just had to go on my list for being such a bargain!

Last but not least, I am always on the look out for something small to add to create a new look around the house. I thought these pieces from Next were just so simple and perfect for christmas I hope you like them!

So that's my November wish list. I've had so much fun making this post, and fingers crossed some of these won't be staying on the list for too long and will be welcomed into my home!

I hope you've enjoyed this post and if you liked anything on my list or would like to share something from your wish list leave a comment below.

Until next time, bye for now!
Hello again!

Well it's arrived a bit later than usual but as you'll find out that's just my life! This month has been such a busy one and time has been short. Luckily this has been a top priority and so fear not - a new blog post is here!

I realised early on this month that there was just so much going on it would be impossible to fill you in on everything, but then I thought why not save it all for one big blog post at the end of the month and make a series of it!
So here it is - Episode 1...

That's just my life!

In this series I'm going to be taking you all the way through the month, the exciting happenings, the crafty creations, the food fun, the events, shops and everything in between!

Without further ado, let's jump to!

As this is episode one I think we're allowed to cheat a little so we're going to start just before November begins! I started this busy month with a trip down to Cardiff to watch Daughter live in concert. The set was so amazing and the support artist Indians was really incredible. I went out and bought his album immediately and have been an addict ever since! I would highly recommend checking his music out!

And then came Halloween! I don't know about you but I'm just a fiend for halloween and dressing up is an absolute must! This year I was very lucky to be invited to Nanteos Mansion Murder Mystery Evening! The theme was "The Great Gatsby" and throughout the beautiful five course meal we were introduced to characters, we witnessed brawls, multiple murders and assisted the detective in identifying and capturing the murderer!

This was the bar room where we were all served gin and lemonade before the meal - yummy!

I'm both proud and ashamed to admit I won the prize for "most imaginative murder!" and was called up on stage to accept my award!

Of course not long after halloween we can't forget Guy Fawkes night! This year I climbed to the highest point of my town and watched all the celebrations go off across the city. It was so beautiful, if not a bit on the nippy side! I wrote about it here.

There was then a moment of lapse where I was introduced to American Horror Story and lost a week of my life to it's amazingness! I can't believe it has taken me so long to get on board this ship but my goodness I'm never getting off! I am loving the American Horror Story.

Do you know what it is yet? :)

Moving swiftly on! I've been squeezing in every craft or food fair I can this season and I've been bringing home a bunch of crafty treats and ideas for the festive season! If you follow me on twitter @theasthinkings you'll know all about it! One crafty christmas challenge is well underway and you'll be finding out about it very soon so keep your eyes peeled -  it's already had a sneaky mention here earlier this month.

This week must have been the busiest of all. I'm very lucky to have a lovely family, but as they live all over the UK I've been having daily birthday celebrations starting on Monday with my sister, and Tuesday with my Pops!
We went for this lovely Tapas meal that was so good I'm tempted to give the restaurant it's own blog review soon, and might even add in some quick and easy tapas recipes as I'm such a devil for Tapas!

Let me know in the comments if you'd like to see some recipes for cheap and cheerful tapas for when you have friends round for a glass or two!

The picture doesn't give it justice (sorry!) but wow it was so amazing!

Midweek I also went to see the all incredible Bellowhead live in concert and had the most amazing time! For those who don't know, Bellowhead produce some of the most incredible folk music in the world and give a phenomenal live performance. They've been quoted before as best live folk band in Britain and they weren't lying!

Last night was just as fun as I went to the Christmas fairground for my annual family ride! I love going to the fair and I swear the older you get the better the "hook a duck" gets! I love to go on the rides, but I love the little stalls and challenges like the darts or the rifle range just as much! It brings back so many sweet childhood memories I would never miss a year!

Tesco goldfish anyone?!
Well then...when I haven't been crafting, dining, celebrating, or dancing my little socks off to some incredible live music I've also been busy splurging on some beauty treats to give my skin some winter TLC, my nails some sparkle and my wardrobe some christmas cheer! I haven't done a haul yet, but hopefully you'll see some coming soon!

Oof we're almost there - Last but not least! Next weekend I am super excited to say I'm heading off to Bristol to see Naked and Famous in concert and to get some christmas shopping in while I'm there. It will certainly be a great end to an epic month, and no doubt I'll be updating you on the whole event very soon!

Christmas is coming!!!
And that brings us to now! If you haven't already seen it, next month I'm going to be doing a Camera Countdown to Christmas starting on December 1st. If you don't know what it is, or if you want to get involved click here to find out more!

I've had so much fun this month and just as much fun writing this post, I hope you've enjoyed it too. If you'd like to see more posts like this or something new please let me know in the comments and I'll be more than glad to oblige!

Thanks for reading, hope to see you back soon!

Hi Blogees!

Oh, hmm not sure if I like that. Does that sound weird? That probably won't stick.

Let's start again, Hello!

Now I know this post is a bit early but I just couldn't wait any longer to share it!

This year I'm feeling like I need a little hand getting into the Christmas spirit. It's been such a busy year I haven't had the time to think about it yet and time to get presents is running out fast.

So I found a really great idea to help me (and you) get in the spirit, and I just couldn't wait to tell you the news!

Eek! Christmas Decoration shopping!!!

This year to get into the Christmas spirit I'm going to be doing a daily photo blog. I thought this would also be an awesome way to get to know each other better too!

So everyday from December 1st I'm going to be taking and uploading a photo to show you a little part of my life, and hopefully capture some pictures of the festivities!

This idea came from reading one of my favourite blogs by Sprinkle of Glitter. I find Sprinkle of Glitter's blogs so inspirational and full of joy and optimism. For summer, Sprinkle of Glitter did a daily photo diary to show off the joys of summer. I just thought it was such a great idea, and what a great way to get in the mood for christmas!

So that's my plan! It would be so amazing if you wanted to join me and we can share a little bit of christmas! If you want to join in the count down to chirstmas let me know. I'd love to see your photos too. You can comment below or you can tag me on Instagram or Twitter @theasthinkings.

I'll still be doing my weekly posts too so don't worry, you'll just be getting double the goodness!
I'm so excited to get started with the Camera count down to Christmas and can't wait to feel festive!

Bye for now!

As winter is definitely on the way the weather is becoming much tougher on the skin, so I wanted to share with you my Winter skin regime to hopefully help you out as well.

I've always had problem skin. Since I was very young I've had very oily skin and suffered from acne for years, but in more recent years I've also been getting terrible dry patches too. To make things worse I have some terrible skin allergies, so finding the perfect combination of products that didn't cause an allergic reaction, but still improved the health of my skin has been a real mission, and I think I've finally cracked it!

Before I get started I have to tell you I am by no means a beauty expert so any comments or recommendations here are purely based on my own personal experience. Still, I hope that they will be useful to some of you too. Fingers crossed!

OK here we go!

My skin regime starts with my morning shower. As I always seem to be in a rush, while my hair is conditioning I use St Ives Blemish Fighting Apricot Facial Scrub to remove any dry skin. I absolutely adore this scrub, it leaves my skin feelings so soft and flawless, I've never found a scrub that compares to this. It recommends that you only use this once every two to three days, so this doesn't feature in every morning routine, but I honestly can't wait for the days when I get to use this scrub!

St Ives Deep Cleansing Facial and All Over Body Scrub

I also use the St Ives Blemish Fighting All Over Body Scrub, as I can get problem skin on other parts of my body such as my shoulders, and just love how soft it makes my whole body feel! To finish I turn the water to cool and (quickly!) run this all over my face and body to close my pores and minimise the chance of any more blemishes.
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion
After my shower, I wash my face with water and use the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Cleansing Lotion. This Lotion is so quick and easy to use, I simply sweep it over my face and neck with a cotton pad. It's also great and removing any make up I might have missed from the day before.

I then use Garnier Simple Essentials Soothing Vitamin-Enriched toner, to restore any vitamin balances that might have been removed by the cleansing lotion. This also makes my skin feel really soft and refreshed.
Garnier Simple Essentials Soothing vitamin-enriched toner

After letting the toner dry naturally I finish off my routine with Neutrogena Visibly Clear oil-free moisturiser. A little really goes a long way with this moisturiser and it's great for people with oily/combination skin. This stops my skin from becoming dry without adding any oil to my skin, and really improves any blemishes and the over all look of my skin.

Neutrogena Visibly Clear oil-free moisturiser

I would highly recommend the Neutrogena range for anyone with problem and/or sensitive skin like me. I've found the whole range shows really visible improvements in my skin.

Now my skins ready for the day!

This finishes my morning routine, so lets dive striaght into the evenings! After a long day I really don't want a routine that's going to take long. So if you're like me you'll be pleased to know this will take only 2-3 minutes.
No7 Beautiful Skin Eye Make-Up remover for All Skin Types

So the first thing I do is remove any eye make up I might have been wearing in the day. I do this using No7 Beautiful Skin eye make up remover for All skin types and a cotton pad. I haven't used many other eye make up removers so I don't know how this competes, but its always worked really well for me and leaves my eye lids feeling clean and nourished. If however it was a lazy day, I can skip this and go straight into the skin regime.

Then to finish off I repeat most of my morning routine. First I wash my face with water and use the Neutrogena cleansing lotion to clear my skin and remove any make up. I follow this up with the Garnier Toner and Neutrogena oil-free moisturiser and I'm done!

I just find this routine really quick and easy, and it's make a huge difference my my skin and my confidence!

The final product I want to mention is BiorĂ© Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. I've wanted to use these products for ages but only recently added them to my routine. All I can say is I wish I'd done it sooner! These strips have been life changing. I've been using the Nose and Facial strips twice a week for the last two weeks and I can really see a difference. My pores are much smaller and less visible especially on my nose, but I have also been using them on the areas around my nose and on my chin.
Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips
The great thing about these strips is how easy they are to use, and you can also cut them to use on smaller areas. All you do is cut to size and wet the areas of skin needing some tlc. Then using dry hands smooth the strip onto the areas and wait for 10-15 minutes. It's a bit gross but you get to see real results immediately! and over the following day the pores visibly reduce in size. I've really been so impressed with this product and it's definitely worth the investment.

The whole regime kit! (Sorry for the poor quality photos, the lighting was terrible)
So that's my winter skin routine! I hope you enjoyed this post and that it's been helpful. If you have any questions or suggestions, or you'd like to see more posts like this please comment below and I will get back to you!

Until next time, Bye for now!
Hello lovely people!

I'm so excited to give you this recipe for a scrummy warm winter sausage casserole. I just love this recipe and cook it all the time for my family.

This is perfect for cold and windy days, why not give it a go this weekend?

It takes a little time but is so easy to make and very very worth the wait!

So without further ado - let's get started!

(You might notice the Cannellini Beans - I was out of Butter beans but just grab whatever you've got lying around)
For this recipe you will need:

About 1 hour 15 mins, a frying pan and a large saucepan

2 tbsp vegetable oil
12 sausages
4 rashers of bacon sliced into thick strips
2 onions diced
400g chopped tomatoes
400ml chicken stock
2 tbsp tomato puree
1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp muscovado sugar
mixed herbs
2 bay leaves
200g drained butter beans
200g drained kidney beans

1. To start off you'll need to heat the oil in a large non-stick pan and add your sausages to brown for 10 minutes. I've used sweet chili sausages for some extra heat but any sausages will do the trick!

While those are browning chop your bacon and dice the onions. To add a little more colour and sweetness you can use one white and one red onion like I've done.

2. Once the sausages are browned put them to one side in a large saucepan. Then using the first frying pan brown the bacon for 5-6minutes and add to the sausages.

3. Again using the frying pan, reduce the heat and add the onions. There should be enough oil left over from the sausages and bacon but if not add a little more oil and leave to soften.

Let's prepare the rest of the ingredients. Measure out 400ml of water and boil for the chicken stock. I've used a stock cube, but if you have some home made hanging around well good on you!

So at this point I realised I'd forgotten a few ingredients in the first image - oops! so here you go!

While that's brewing chop the garlic as best you can (I'm never very good at this), set aside, and measure out 1tbsp of muscovado sugar. If you don't have muscovado don't worry brown is fine.

3. Hopefully by now your onions are starting to soften. If they're now looking a little golden, add the garlic and soften for another 2-3 minutes before adding the paprika.

I've used a yummy Spanish smoked paprika from a local delicatessen to add some extra oomph but paprika from your local supermarket will work great, or if you want some extra heat try using chili powder!

4. OK so now to add it all together! Throw the chopped tomatoes, chicken stock, Worcestershire sauce, bay leaf, herbs, tomato puree and muscovado sugar all into the pan and bring to a simmer. Finally (and carefully) add everything to the saucepan with the sausages, cover, and leave to simmer for another 20 minutes.

Do I look like I'm sleeping to you?! Not the best selfie!
While you're waiting you've got time to clean up, or if your naughty like me you've got time for a cheeky cup of tea!

5. OK, Almost there! Now all we need to do is drained the beans and run under a cold tap until the water runs clear. Add these to the casserole and leave to simmer for a final 10 minutes. And you're done!

One scrummy casserole to keep you toasty this winter!!

This casserole is great with brown rice or served with a fresh slice of crusty bread. I've chosen a cheese and tomato focaccia compliments of Morrisons bakery!

I really hope you enjoyed this recipe and if you try it let me know or tag me in a photo on Instagram @aletheaprice or twitter @theasthinkings.

Thanks for reading!

Bye for now!

My lovely neighbourhood

Bye for now!

Happy Guy Fawkes night!

I've been wanting to start a blog for a long time now, and I thought what better time than to kick it off on one of the best nights of the year! This night holds lots of strong memories for me and tonight I wanted to share a little snippet with you.

Aberystwyth at night!

Bonfire night has always been a family event in this household, and every year we do something different. This year I decided to climb to the highest point of my town and watch all the different firework displays go off across the area.

The wind certainly gave me a run for my money, but here's a few of the sparkly views across the town.

Fireworks across the Aberystwyth skies

What did you do for Guy Fawkes?

Until next time, toodlepip!
